For the 2007 Maryland Charity Campaign the following recognition awards will be given:
The Governor's Cup
This award is based on total dollars raised. A per-capita formula will be used to make the parameters fair for all departments. Three size categories will be used to create equity: Small departments are those with 499 or fewer employees, Medium departments are those with 500 - 2,499 employees, Large departments are those with more than 2,500 employees.
The Participation Award
This award is based on overall highest participation rate. Three size categories will be used to create equity: Small departments are those with 499 or fewer employees, Medium departments are those with 500 - 2,499 employees, Large departments are those with more than 2,500 employees.
The Schaefer Cares Award
This is also a participation award. However, it is based on highest growth in participation from the 2006 campaign to the 2007 campaign. Three size categories will be used to create equity: Small departments are those with 499 or fewer employees, Medium departments are those with 500 - 2,499 employees, Large departments are those with more than 2,500 employees.
