IWIF and employees donate more than $78,000 to Maryland Charity Campaign

IWIF and employees donate more than $78,000 to Maryland Charity Campaign.Employees at IWIF Workers’ Compensation Insurance donated more than $39,000 to the Maryland Charity Campaign, the state-sponsored fundraising initiative for local and national charities. With the company match of employees’ donations, the total contribution to the campaign exceeded $78,000.

IWIF President and CEO Thomas J. Phelan, CPA, presented representatives from the campaign with the donation check in February.

“I am proud of the work IWIF employees do, both in the marketplace and the community,” says Phelan. “Through volunteerism, monetary donations, collections and grants, our involvement with the community allows us to give back to those who make it possible for us to be here in the first place.”

To encourage employee involvement in community volunteerism or charitable donations, IWIF supports their efforts by providing nominal paid time off to volunteer and through matching donations.

The Maryland Charity Campaign Moves Toward a “Greener” Future

MCC believes in the importance of protecting the environment and has embarked on efforts to make the Campaign a “greener” one. You may remember last year’s incentive - the red and white pen – that was made of biodegradable cornstarch. This year’s incentive is made of recycled paper and is eco-friendly as well.

In an effort to reduce the amount of paper that is used for directories, posters and other promotional materials, everything will be available for downloading on the Charity’s website ... just click on the Coordinators Corner tab.
